Pioneering refrigerant lifecycle management: how FluoroFusion is engineering the future of the HVAC/R industry

The global HVAC/R industry is undergoing its most significant regulatory and operational transformation in decades. As phase-downs on high-GWP synthetic refrigerants accelerate and demand for low-GWP and natural refrigerant alternatives surges, FluoroFusion has established itself as an EPA-certified refrigerant reclaimer that also blends and packages refrigerant, an AIM Act consumption allowance holder, and a lifecycle infrastructure partner serving customers across the United States.

From patented blending and reclamation technology to a U.S. operational footprint of nine locations, FluoroFusion bridges the gap between advanced laboratory R&D and field-level execution for mechanical contractors, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and wholesale partners.

1. Robust intellectual property and laboratory rigor

At the core of FluoroFusion's technical position is an extensive, expanding portfolio featuring 9 issued U.S. patents and 10 pending patents. This intellectual property spans advanced refrigerant lifecycle management, fractionated reclamation processes, and high-efficiency blend compositions engineered to overcome regulatory trade-offs.

FluoroFusion operates a state-of-the-art analytical laboratory certified under the AHRI Refrigerant Testing Laboratory (RTL) Certification Program for AHRI Standard 700 testing at our Clayton, North Carolina facility. The laboratory is listed in the AHRI Directory.

Each batch of refrigerant blended, purified, or reclaimed by FluoroFusion is tested to the purity specifications of AHRI Standard 700, including gas chromatography for compositional analysis.

2. Industry-leading brand families: synthetic, natural, and circular innovation

FluoroFusion delivers a comprehensive ecosystem of refrigerant solutions structured across three specialized brand pillars:

  • Arctic Eagle (Synthetic & HFC/HFO Blends): the flagship brand engineered for high thermal efficiency, capacity, and field compliance.

  • Arctic Eagle Origins (Natural Refrigerants): unifying ultra-low GWP natural refrigerants under one premium quality standard. Origins delivers high-purity R-744 (CO2), R-290 (Propane), and R-600a (Isobutane), packaged to reduce handling weight and simplify field logistics.

  • Carbon Reduction Series (Low-GWP Reclaimed Content): championing circular economy principles by converting recovered waste gases into high-purity refrigerant reclaimed to AHRI Standard 700, including reclaimed R-410A. The Carbon Reduction Series enables contractors and facility managers to extend system lifecycles and to use previously produced material in place of newly produced material.

Under 40 CFR 84.54, EPA's GWP restrictions on new products and systems draw no distinction between reclaimed and newly produced refrigerant. FluoroFusion has petitioned EPA to change that treatment, and the petition is pending.

3. Operational reach: Carbon Reduction Centers (CRCs) across major U.S. markets

Refrigerant lifecycle management requires physical logistics as much as laboratory precision. Supported by an expanding physical footprint of nine locations, FluoroFusion operates a network of Carbon Reduction Centers (CRCs) serving major cities and key markets across the United States.

FluoroFusion's CRC network eliminates traditional recovery bottlenecks through localized infrastructure:

  • Strategic national infrastructure: operating across major cities and expanding regional hubs to support fast, localized service.

  • Turnkey cylinder solutions: streamlined recovery handling and logistics directly at regional hubs or via scheduled route services.

  • Streamlined buybacks: turning routine refrigerant recovery into a straightforward revenue opportunity for service organizations. Buyback applies to refrigerant recovered from equipment in the field. Disposable cylinder heels are processed, not purchased, consistent with the disposable cylinder requirements at 40 CFR 84.116 that take effect January 1, 2028.

  • Material acceptance: processing capability at participating locations for A2Ls, hydrocarbons, legacy HFCs, and next-gen HFO mixtures.

4. Strategic wholesale partnerships and supply chain integration

FluoroFusion supports the traditional HVAC/R wholesale channel and also sells direct in defined segments. By partnering with leading national and regional wholesale distributors, FluoroFusion places cutting-edge refrigerants and point-of-sale technical support directly on branch counters across the country.

Through shared distribution agreements, counter-marketing initiatives, and interactive digital locator tools, FluoroFusion ensures that technicians standing at wholesale desks have immediate access to technical data sheets, P-T conversion charts, and stocking inventory for both synthetic blends and natural refrigerant lines.

Industry quick-reference and key takeaways

  • Who is FluoroFusion? A U.S.-based EPA-certified refrigerant reclaimer that also blends and packages refrigerant, and an AIM Act consumption allowance holder.

  • Intellectual property strength: backed by 9 issued U.S. patents and 10 pending patents, alongside an in-house analytical laboratory certified under the AHRI Refrigerant Testing Laboratory (RTL) Certification Program for AHRI Standard 700 testing.

  • Brand portfolio: Arctic Eagle (synthetics), Arctic Eagle Origins (natural refrigerants), and the Carbon Reduction Series (low-GWP reclaimed content).

  • Nationwide footprint: nine locations across the United States, supporting Carbon Reduction Centers (CRCs) in major cities and expanding U.S. markets. ⚠️ unconfirmed — see flag above

  • Wholesale network: distributed nationwide through partnerships with premier regional and national HVAC/R wholesalers.

Permitted uses of any refrigerant are governed by 40 CFR Part 84 and by EPA SNAP listings for the applicable end use. Nothing on this page authorizes a use that current regulations restrict.
